Onsen
Here at Hotel Goryukan, we have both an indoor and outdoor onsen (hot spring). The water in our onsen is derived from Hakuba Happo Onsen, known as being one of the top onsens for healthy skin in all of Japan! As a result of Happo Onsen’s strong alkalinity, your skin will be left feeling clean and moisturized after taking a bath. Taking an onsen has also been found to help to relieve muscle soreness, increase blood circulation and reduce stress by removing us from daily distractions.
-
Sauna
A dry sauna is available outside of the onsen area. In the sauna you will find a bucket of water and extra towels. The water can be poured over the hot stone stove to create some soothing steam. The average temperature of the sauna usually stays around 100℃ (212°F). Saunas are especially beneficial for promoting relaxation and reducing stress. Some information also suggests that regularly taking a sauna can help lower the risk of heart disease.
-
Cold Bath
A cold bath is located in the outside onsen area. It is tapped with underground drinkable water and the average temperature is 12℃ (54°F) during winter and 15℃ (59°F) in summer. Cold baths are often used for athlete recovery and have been found to support muscle recovery and reduce inflammation.

Luggage Transfer

Fortunately, Black Cat Luggage (Yamato Transport) can help. You can arrange luggage delivery from the airport or at prior accommodation and have it shipped directly to Hotel Goryukan. If you plan on sending your luggage to the hotel, please send it under your reservation name. This helps us recognize who it belongs to and ensures we get it into the correct hands once it's delivered. Luggage can take 1-3 days to deliver and costs vary according to luggage size.
