At Hotel Goryukan (hereinafter referred to as “the Hotel”), we have established the following rules based on Article 10 of the Accommodation Terms and Conditions to ensure that guests have a safe and comfortable stay. If these rules are not followed, the Hotel may refuse accommodation and the use of the Hotel’s facilities in accordance with Article 7 of the Accommodation Terms and Conditions.

Additionally, the Hotel is not responsible for any damages arising from violations of these rules. Furthermore, if the Hotel suffers any damage due to a violation, the Hotel may seek compensation from the guest in accordance with Article 18 of the Accommodation Terms and Conditions.

The laws and regulations outlined in these Terms of Use are all based on Japanese laws.

CHECK-IN AND CHECK-OUT RULES

【Check-In Time: 3:00 PM to 9:00 PM】Please complete the check-in procedure at the front desk
【Check-Out Time: By 10:00 AM】Please return the room key and settle the payment at the front desk

  1. Late check-in is generally not available.
  2. Upon check-in, please register your information as required by Article 8 of the Accommodation Terms and Conditions.
  3. At check-out, please return the room key. If you have been issued a ski locker key, please return it as well. A reissue fee of ¥3,000 per key will be charged if the key is lost.
  4. Late check-out is not allowed. If you check out after the designated time, an additional charge will apply according to Article 9 of the Accommodation Terms and Conditions.
  5. Unauthorized extended stays are strictly prohibited.

ACCOMMODATION CAPACITY AND PROHIBITION OF UNREPORTED GUESTS

  1. The maximum number of guests per room cannot be exceeded.
  2. Guests not reported at the time of reservation are prohibited from staying.
  3. If an unreported guest is found, additional charges will be billed, and the accommodation contract may be canceled depending on the situation.
  4. Regardless of parental consent, minors (under 18 years old) may not stay alone. If it is determined that a minor is staying alone, as per Articles 5 and 7 of the Accommodation Terms and Conditions, the Hotel may refuse accommodation and may require the guest to leave.

USE OF GUESTROOMS AND HOTEL FACILITIES

  1. The use of guestrooms is governed by Article 9 of the Accommodation Terms and Conditions.
  2. The hours of operation for Hotel facilities and services are governed by Article 11 of the Accommodation Terms and Conditions.
  3. The use of the hot spring sauna is limited to guests during their stay. Before check-in and after check-out, use will be considered day-use and subject to a separate fee.
  4. Removal or unauthorized relocation of furniture, equipment, or electrical appliances from the guestrooms and Hotel facilities is prohibited.
  5. Items borrowed from the front desk (such as chargers or umbrellas) should be returned according to the designated method. Failure to return these items may result in appropriate charges.
  6. In case of damage, loss, or soiling of equipment or facilities, repair or cleaning costs may be charged.
  7. Please use the shared areas with respect. Some areas may have specific guidelines posted; please refer to the on-site signage for details.
  8. The Hotel provides free detergent for use in the coin-operated laundry. The use of this facility is at the guest’s discretion, and the Hotel is not responsible for any damage or discoloration to clothing.
  9. Please dispose of trash in the designated bins and separate it as instructed.
  10. The Hotel provides free WiFi; however, we do not guarantee the speed or stability of the connection. The Hotel is not responsible for any device-related issues (such as virus infections or hacking) arising from the use of the WiFi network.

FRONT DESK ARRANGEMENT ASSISTANCE

  1. The Hotel provides limited arrangement assistance at the front desk for guests during their stay. This includes services such as arranging taxis departing from the hotel or making restaurant reservations where only Japanese is spoken. These services are available only when guests are unable to arrange them independently.
  2. Please note that we are unable to handle requests without specific preferences (e.g., specific restaurants or activities), or manage broader arrangements like transportation ticket bookings or comprehensive travel planning.
  3. This arrangement assistance is not available before check-in or after check-out.
  4. Due to availability or booking conditions, these services may not be guaranteed. Thank you for your understanding.

SHUTTLE SERVICE

  1. The Hotel offers a free shuttle service exclusively for guests staying at the hotel, available only on the arrival and departure days, with prior reservation required. The service covers Hakuba Happo Bus Terminal, JR Hakuba Station, and Hakuba Base Camp.
  2. Shuttle service hours vary by season. For more details, please check the website or ask at the front desk.
  3. Please note that the shuttle service may not be available due to the driver’s availability or resources. Any changes to the service will be announced on the website or other channels, so please check for updates.
  4. The hotel does not provide shuttle services to ski resorts or restaurants.

PARKING

  1. The Hotel’s parking lot is available free of charge for guests staying overnight or for day visitors, with no prior reservation required.
  2. Parking before check-in and after check-out is available only on the day of check-in or check-out. Please note that overnight parking without staying at the hotel is not permitted.
  3. Guests are requested to register their vehicle type and license plate number (4-digit number) at check-in, in accordance with Article 8 of the Accommodation Terms and Conditions.
  4. Guests are responsible for managing their own vehicles and keys. For safety reasons, such as falling snow from the roof, you may be asked to move your vehicle.
  5. For guests staying at the hotel, electric vehicle (EV) charging services are available free of charge. Charging requires staff assistance, so please notify the front desk upon arrival (check-in). For day visitors, paid charging stations are available, and we will provide directions. Thank you for your understanding.
  6. The responsibility for parking usage is outlined in Article 17 of the Accommodation Terms and Conditions.

MANAGEMENT OF VALUABLES AND LUGGAGE

  1. Please use the safety box in the guestroom for the storage and management of valuables. The Hotel is not responsible for any loss or theft that may occur. Guests are responsible for managing their own valuables.
  2. The Hotel is not responsible for any personal items left in the common areas. Please ensure that your belongings are properly managed and not left unattended.
  3. Please manage your belongings and ensure they are not left unattended.
  4. For luggage sent prior to check-in, the Hotel will receive and store it responsibly in accordance with Article 16 of the Accommodation Terms and Conditions, and it will be provided to you at check-in.
  5. Luggage may be stored at the front desk before check-in and after check-out, but only on the day of check-in and check-out. Please drop off or collect luggage during front desk hours.
  6. Lost and found items will be handled according to Article 16 of the Accommodation Terms and Conditions.

SAFETY AND EMERGENCY PROCEDURES

  1. Emergency evacuation routes are posted on the inside of the guestroom doors. Please be sure to check them.
  2. In case of an emergency, follow the instructions of the Hotel staff and quickly follow the evacuation routes.
  3. Do not use fire alarms or emergency exits unless in an emergency.
  4. The main entrance (automatic door) is locked from 9:00 PM to 7:00 AM. After 9:00 PM, please use the night entrance next to the main entrance. You can unlock the night entrance by entering the access code provided at check-in. Please make sure to keep the access code provided at check-in for your reference.
  5. In case of an emergency outside front desk hours (9:00 PM to 7:00 AM), please contact the emergency phone at the front desk. As a general rule, please contact the front desk during front desk hours (as specified in Article 11 of the Accommodation Terms and Conditions) for inquiries.
  6. When leaving the guestroom, please ensure it is locked, and use the internal lock when going to bed.
  7. If you have a visitor at the guestroom, please refrain from opening the door carelessly. If your room is equipped with a peephole or intercom, please use it to verify their identity. If you suspect the visitor is suspicious, please contact the front desk immediately.
  8. Only guests staying at the hotel are allowed to use the guestrooms and guestroom floors (2nd to 5th floors). External visitors, including delivery persons, service providers such as masseurs, and others, are not allowed on the guestroom floors.
  9. The Hotel provides cleaning services every third day for guests staying for consecutive nights. However, even if guests request not to have cleaning, cleaning will be done at least once every fifth day for hygienic reasons.
  10. If you are feeling unwell or have been injured during your time at the Hotel or on the premises, please notify the front desk immediately. Please note that the Hotel cannot provide medication by law, so please prepare any necessary medication yourself.

PAYMENT AND ADDITIONAL CHARGES

  1. The accommodation fee must be paid at check-in. (Some accommodation plans may require prepayment.)
  2. If there are changes to the length of stay, number of guests, or other details, please inform the front desk in advance.
  3. Additional charges for services and other usage should be paid at the time designated by the Hotel.
  4. If you use room charges, you will need to confirm your room number and sign for the charges. Please present your room key or other identification that shows your room number.
  5. Please note that telephone calls made to outside lines from the in-room phone will incur additional charges.
  6. Payments can be made in cash or by other methods recognized by the Hotel, such as travel checks, accommodation vouchers, credit cards, or electronic payments.
  7. Please note that the Hotel does not accept any checks other than traveler’s checks or offer foreign currency exchange services.
  8. The Hotel cannot advance payment for purchases such as shopping, airline or train/bus tickets, taxi fares, postage, or shipping costs.
  9. If there are any unpaid charges after your stay, they may be billed to you later.

PROHIBITED ACTIONS IN THE HOTEL

Prohibited Acts

  1. Guests are prohibited from the following actions:
  2. Actions that disturb other guests or interfere with the operation of the Hotel’s facilities.
  3. Gambling, acts that disrupt public order, or actions that disturb other guests.
  4. Commercial activities, solicitation, or distribution of advertisements or goods within the Hotel.
  5. Illegal downloads, unauthorized access, or virus dissemination.
  6. Posting notices on windows or distributing advertisements or selling goods within the Hotel.
  7. Use of the Hotel by members of criminal organizations or anti-social groups.
  8. Unauthorized movement, modification, or damage to the Hotel’s facilities or equipment (guests may be asked to compensate for any damage, loss, or defacement).
  9. Leaving personal belongings unattended in shared areas such as hallways or the lobby.
  10. Littering in public areas (please dispose of trash in the designated bins and separate waste accordingly).
  11. Loud noises or disturbances within the Hotel (e.g., late-night conversations in the hallway, playing loud music or TV in rooms).
  12. Filming or recording in public areas, such as the public bath (hot spring) and changing rooms.
  13. Unauthorized access to restricted areas (staff-only areas, machine rooms, rooftops, etc.).
  14. Unauthorized drone flights on the Hotel premises. Please consult the front desk if you wish to fly or film with a drone.

Prohibited Items

The following items are prohibited from being brought into the hotel:

  1. Pets (except for guide dogs, service dogs, and hearing dogs)
  2. Gunpowder, volatile oils, or other hazardous materials
  3. Items emitting strong odors
  4. Firearms, knives, or other prohibited weapons without a permit
  5. Excessively large luggage or items
  6. Items prohibited by law

Smoking and Handling of Fire

  1. The entire hotel is non-smoking. Smoking (including e-cigarettes) is prohibited except in designated smoking areas. Please use the designated outdoor smoking space (next to the main entrance). A fee of ¥20,000 will be charged for room deodorizing and cleaning if smoking occurs in the guest room or other areas.
  2. The use of fire (including cooking appliances, candles, etc.) in the hotel and guest rooms is strictly prohibited.

DAY-USE SERVICES

  1. The Hotel offers certain facilities and services (such as the hot spring sauna, restaurant, etc.) for day-use (without overnight stay). Please check the website or front desk for details on available services, operating hours, and fees.
  2. The Terms of Use apply to day-use guests as well. However, different terms may apply to day-use guests, so please confirm the relevant items before using the services.
  3. Day-use guests are required to comply with the Hotel’s rules and prohibitions within the hotel. Failure to do so may result in suspension of use and a request to leave.
  4. The Hotel does not provide services to individuals who do not qualify as overnight or day-use guests. In such cases, guests may be asked to leave without prior notice.
  5. The Hotel will manage and use personal information obtained from day-use guests solely based on the “Privacy Policy.”

CHANGES TO THE TERMS OF USE

  1. The Hotel may change the Terms of Use at its discretion under the following circumstances:
    1. If the change benefits the guest.
    2. If the change is reasonable based on the necessity, content, and other circumstances and does not contradict the purpose of these terms.
  2. When changing the Terms of Use, the Hotel will post the change and the revised content on the hotel website or other channels at least two weeks before the effective date.
